Our reports are various named depending on the race of the accused, namely: (1) Gladue Report (2) Impact of Race & Culture Assessments (IRCAs) or (3) Pre-sentence report. Collectively, they are comprehensive reports that examine how diverse systemic, cultural, and personal factors influenced an individual’s life and their involvement with the justice system. These include consideration of daily expressions of colonization and racism. The reports provide Canadian courts with crucial context to inform their consideration of a fit sentence that is fair and proportionate.
